Inspiring Stars

02.21.12

Historically, celebrity icons and entertainment stars have always set fashion trends in motion. It is no different in the wedding world of fashion. Designers are looking to starlets of the past as inspiration for their current lines. Here are a few of our favorites.
Grace Kelly, an icon that has influenced so many, was a vision in her high-necked lace gown when she married Prince Rainier. Want the look that even Kate Middleton mimicked?
Try the Pronovias’ bolero dress.

Judy Garland, on her wedding day, wore a very simple jersey dress when she married Vincent Minnelli. This Anne Bowen crepe gown reminds us of the starlet’s chic look.

If you’re wanting something a little non-traditional, take a cue from Bianca Jagger. We love the images of her and Mick from their wedding where she donned a YSL tuxedo jacket. You can still get the look from them today.

Want to see more iconic images from star’s weddings? You can purchase “Weddings and Movie Stars” available on Amazon.

"I Present To You Mr. and Mrs. Murray"

02.11.12

This wedding feature is that of my beautiful cousin Katie Lynch and her now husband Haskell Murray. This couple is one that does not miss a beat with each other. They truly are two that I can say complete each other in every way. Katie and I have always been close and I often wondered who would be the perfect guy to compliment such a sweet and sincere girl. The moment that Katie introduced me to Haskell I knew that he was definitely her other half. Their wedding day was full of wonderful family and friends that surrounded this incredible couple with love celebrating all night long!  Katie chose to get married in her hometown of Concord, North Carolina in her home church with a reception following at The Club at Irish Creek. The fabulous LindseyLee Hartsell did a magnificent job of capturing this day and all the love that went into it.

Valentines for Veronica

02.06.12

It is that time of year where we show our loved ones just how we much we care. This Valentine’s Day, we are hoping you will help to support our vendors that have teamed up for a great cause.

Branch Design Studio and D’lish Desserts are partnering with the “Save Veronica Rose” campaign to help raise money for the Capobianco family as they face mounting legal fees in their fight to bring Veronica home!  Veronica was adopted by the Capobianco family and recently taken away from them due to the Indian Child Welfare Act. To read about Veronica’s story, visit their website here. To support the cause, Branch Design Studio and D’lish Desserts are allowing you to order a beautiful Valentine’s Day flower bouquet and cupcake bundle to be hand delivered to your Valentine on Valentine’s Day throughout the Greater Charleston area.

There are three packages that you can choose from:

“Little V”: Small floral arrangement and 2 Valentine’s Day Cupcakes (choice of 1 flavor)- $65.00

“Sweet V”: Medium floral arrangement and 4 Valentine’s Day Cupcakes (choice of 2 flavors)- $85.00

“Lovable V”: Large floral arrangement and 6 Valentine’s Day Cupcakes (choice of 3 flavors)-$100.00

Flower arrangements will be mixes of white, pink and red flowers in glass vases of varying sizes depending on package. Flowers used will include hydrangea, ranunculus, sweet peas, orchids, roses, tulips, dusty miller, etc. When you call to order you can choose between red velvet, carrot, or chocolate cupcakes. Red velvet and carrot cupcakes will have cream cheese buttercream frosting and chocolate cupcakes will have chocolate buttercream frosting. Please order by February 10th at 5pm to ensure you can take advantage of this opportunity! 100% of the proceeds from each order will be given straight to the Save Veronica fund set up through the CAICW national nonprofit.

This Valentine’s Day, we hope you will share the love by giving in more than one way!
