WE BELIEVE
In being creative and stepping outside of the box. We know that it can be scary to host an event that may have some elements that haven’t been seen before, but that’s the point. We want to create spaces that are new and innovative. Every space should have a “wow” factor and we can show you how.
In hospitality and southern graces and like to inject each of our events with a little bit of both. You don’t have to be from the South to love it’s gentility. We pride ourselves on providing our clients and guests with a welcoming and inclusive environment. We invite you to contact us to set up a time where you can come sit a while with us and chat about your vision. We want to hear what makes your heart skip a beat and what we can to do to help you make your vision a reality.

CO-OWNER & PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
I grew up in the small town of Florence, South Carolina as the daughter of two super creative florists. I watched my parents craft arrangements for all celebrations of life, and as a result my passion for event design started at a very young age. Each birthday would end and I would already have plans for the style, decor, and color for the celebration the next year. I was raised by the rules of a southern belle; learning how to always handle each situation with calm and grace, and ensuring to know all elements of events from using the proper pieces of a place setting to the centerpiece on the table. My background is my guidelines for each event to ensure your event is stress free and every part of the event hits the root of what is most important to you.
During my time at Anderson University, I used my skills to plan events for a law firm that was the sponsor for concerts and artists. Upon graduating I followed my heart to the coast to my favorite city, Charleston. It is the place that’s always held a special place in my heart and the place my parents took me as a child to learn the art of fine dining. The history of Charleston absolutely mesmerizes me and always has. I mean think of all the fabulous parties that have taken place through the years here. I love that I now get to be a part of that history and help recreate it.
When I am not planning events you can find me with my husband and cute blue-eyed blonde hair son on the beach and exploring the lowcountry, or with girlfriends enjoying a glass of rosé at one of Charleston’s newest restaurants. Time is one of the most important pieces of life to me and time enjoying all of life with family and friends is truly the meaning of life. My goal in event planning is to ensure that the time you spend at your event is the time of your life and a moment you’ll never forget.

MEREDITH TANTON
CO-OWNER & PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC but have deep roots in the lowcountry. Charleston was always a primary vacation destination for my family and so my love affair with this city started from childhood. The history, focus on hospitality and gentility of Charleston always spoke to my soul, so after graduating from Elon University with a degree in Corporate Communications, I decided to put down roots in the city I love. Growing up in the South, my mother and grandmother taught me how to be the quintessential Southern hostess and about the art of entertaining. The cornerstone of any good Southern party is making your guests feel welcomed and appreciated. I knew my calling was to help others do just that and put my refined skills to good use.
As co-founder of Sweetgrass Social, my passion for wedding planning is echoed throughout the elegant and dramatic design details I contribute to each event. While I honor tradition and love a classic design, I also love to add a touch of glamour to all my events and inject them with my client’s personal style. While I am not busy planning my clients’ special days, I can be found traveling. I am a lover of fine hotels, resorts, and in particular Caribbean destinations. As my grandmother always said, “If you are going to go on vacation, it better be to somewhere nicer than your own home. Otherwise, you might as well just stay home.” Amen to that!
During wedding season I can be found traveling up and down the East Coast and all over the Charleston area for my clients’ wedding destinations, but I reside in Mt. Pleasant with my husband, two beautiful daughters, and our pup, Juno. In my spare time, I also work in the Children’s Ministry at our church.
I always love new friends and can’t wait to meet you to help plan your big day!

SAMANTHA SCANDOLE
Senior Event Producer
I am a New York native who fell in love with Charleston’s southern hospitality when I moved here after graduating from the University of North Carolina – Wilmington. While in Wilmington, I worked for a local wedding planner. It was here that I truly began to foster a love of weddings.
I specialize in Sweetgrass Social’s Event Management packages. I have a keen attention to detail and a true workaholics mentality. More than anything, I love being on site coordinating our clients happiest moments.
When I’m not busy helping our clients put together the wedding of their dreams, you can find me sipping on some rosé on a downtown rooftop or lounging on the beach with a good book. My favorite things in the world are my family, friends and my Pit Bull/Chihuahua mix named Jack, who is the strangest creature I’ve ever met!

SARA GARCIA
Wedding Planner & Event Managment Specialist
I realized my passion for events early on and knew that I wanted to be the one to help create amazing experiences. After leaving Los Angeles to come to school in Charleston, I knew my passion for weddings and obsession for southern charm would thrive. I went to the College of Charleston where I majored in Arts Management with a minor in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Being a student athlete in college has allowed me to bring my drive and passion into my work as well.
Previously working for a luxury hotel brand and caterer has allowed me to learn about several aspects of the events industry in Charleston. When my wanderlust doesn’t have me sightseeing across the country or trekking across Europe, I enjoy brunch with friends on the weekends or a good glass of wine.
